Clowns = Nightmares.

Last night...I was about to go to bed when @CurtisRx twitters Episode 4 of www.watchplayingdead.com will be available at midnight, it was about 11pm so I figured I'd finish watching Videodrone, watch Ep.4 then go to bed.

1a.m rolled around and still no Ep.4 so I went to bed, with clowns and stomach guns on the brain.

My nightmares are usually funny and horrible, last night's was no different.
I dreamed I was in my new house, that's still empty and I noticed something run from the garage to the pantry, shutting the door behind it.

Now, my new house doesn't have a pantry built in it just yet, but I guess I was dreaming of where the new pantry will be...so anyways...

I got closer to see when another one ran in, this time big and colorful, I could feel my entire body go cold, oh I knew what it was...I knew full well....yup...that was a clown and it just ran into my pantry.

So I thought "What do I do?" "What can I---oh god another one just ran in"

I was too frightened to move when the littlest clown saw me and ran at me with his arms in the air, I screamed and he stuffed me into a laundry hamper then I woke up as I rolled off my bed.

Upon reflection I can see how this is both morbid and funny, I'm laughing about it but I'll never feel the same way again about the soon-to-be-built kitchen pantry.

On the bright side, Ep.4 is uploaded, I've watched it twice and I can't wait for next Friday for Ep.5 :)

Bruce Bruce vs Frankenstein!

I'm *still* excited about this, it was announced yesterday and my immediate reaction was to post to everyone AND their moms!

That was my reaction and Ted confirmed hes "IN it!"  I could of exploded into a puff of confetti and glitter!

I spent the better part of the morning giddy, thinking about if Ted was gonna be Frankenstein and many other roles, like he did in My Name is Bruce, another movie I *loved*!

So, here's what I was thinking
Even with the monster makeup hes still sooooooooooooooo dreamy! I know Frankenstein actually has a brown coat and no tie but its still Ted!
Even though it's not confirmed, I still had a lot of fun making this and I'm really enjoying this WACOM a lot more then I had thought, Its actually fun and relaxing to mess with photos.

The knobs were taken from a photo of a Frankenstein mask, I used the shiny side and duplicated it on both sides, then made them smaller and moved into position.

Here's Ted as Frankenstein without the makeup.

Here's one of the other background I tested...

But I decided since his skin is going to be green, I needed a green background, but without the makeup or costume on, this is the background I would have chosen because I love its use of colors.

During a real zombie invasion...

I've had a good day, My name is Bruce sequels announced and even better, Ted Raimi confirmed he'll be in it (Though how many times is still unknown) He just said he has a lead role in a major film but couldn't reveal anything else...I can't wait to hear \ see more!!!!!

I decided to make a joke, using my wacom and a movie still from one of my favorite horrors, Day of the Dead, I took a photo of mine and made it into kind of a post card, unfortunately, it didn't turn out exactly how I had wanted, but its still spiffy!

I thought it would be funny to instead ask, all the zombie fans out there..
If zombies really did invade the world:

  • Would people still blog?
  • Would they take cheesy myspace photos?
  • If you got full Kevlar and covered yourself in Crisco, would you be safe?

Anyhoo, I've had a headache all day and I'm blaming the cheap wine and sitting funny in my computer chair for most of the morning and for now, its bedtime.

p.s next time I'll use a photo where I'm not squinting! lol

Here's the process, -Original photo- boring...and squinting ><

I went after the hair first, not really knowing exactly what I was going to do with the photo, till it hit me, why not make a monster like post card, with zombies?:D

I didn't know if I'd get in trouble for using the background of Day of the Dead, so I wanted to make it cartoony too, just in case. Also sketched in some hair.

I was testing eye colors, here is Purple.

Green
Teal, I loved this color but it just wasn't me, I have light brown eyes and I figured I should stick to some part of realism.

And I thought I'd dislike KS...

Well, the day has come, we have a house. We can move in mid Feb, though my joke was "Mid Feptember" because I was tongue tied and too busy starring at the house.

We're all very excited, its a 5 bedroom, 3 bath with 3,046 square feet!!! Two covered patios, walk out finished basement. It has a wonderful lake view and more space then I know what to do with, first time ever!

So much hardwood floor, never wearing shoes inside the house ever again, gonna need a ton of those grippy socks so I don't slip and kill myself lol...

We're so excited its insane! We feel very lucky right now:) Now...what colors to pick. I was thinking:

I found this image through the random waves of Google. I really love its use of color and I'm gonna attempt to recreate it. :) Oh I also found a picture of a sink I really like

That's just beyond spiffy to me. I must have it O_O

I need more ideas, I've never had so much space to decorate before, it's just too exciting!!!!
I feel like the luckiest gal on earth:)

Death of my DVD player.

I've decided I've taken enough abuse from my DVD player, all of its late audio, the skipping frames and constant yet still pretty random honking sounds (much like a flock of dying mechanical geese) I'm going to take it a part, see if perhaps by some off chance of fixing it...or just taking out aggression like a scene out of Office Space.

I have nothing else better to do, not when its like this outside:
Besides, staying in where its warm and watching B horrors is far more ideal then what little my town has to offer.

Oh and 3 discs of IT crowd!

If I had but one movie-wish...

I'd want Sam Raimi to direct:

I'm sad he wont be doing Spiderman 4 but I'm excited to hear there will be an Evil Dead 4 as I'm a huge fan of the ED series, more so then Spiderman.

I absolutely love the idea of the zombie marvel spin off to be made into movies because
A) I love zombies
B) I know for a fact Sam Raimi would do an amazing job
C) The visuals and gore factor could be shot in a new way, perhaps even change the standard horror movie script, where you have a hero who couldn't die. In the zombie marvel world anything goes, right?

I'm not saying I want to see Ash die, because that's no where near what I want, hes a bumbling idiot and you love to hate him but when its time to fight evil forces hes the man you want by your side. Besides, Ash has simply gone through too much to die from zombies, hes much more likely to accidentally fall off a cliff, set himself on fire or be shot by a love-scorn woman.

Ted Raimi, of course!

I hope I don't get into trouble for this, but I finally figured out how to take screenshots from video on the computer.

I was watching "The Gore The Merrier" which is an Evil Dead 2 featurette on all the behind the scenes stuff like hurting Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi being the comical bully and how they did the makeup as well as really great camera tricks and inside jokes revealed. I Highly recommend watching it and the ED2 with commentary.

I wish the video didn't cut out, I really wanted to know what Ted said next! AAAH!

Dear Ted,
you endured what must of been extremely smelly plastic and rubber, the NC Heat, Your brother, wires, gravity, makeup and contacts that blinded you but on behalf of all ED \ TR fans, we thank you, Ted. You made one hell of a freaky monster.

Did anyone else notice this scene from "My Name is Bruce?
An apple juice box? lol!

An obligatory Pavel shot, in "Man With The Screaming Brain". My favorite scene.

PAVEL
But first I... make letter better.

The writer within...

I'm still learning the ropes and I've never let anyone read what I've done because I'm shy, no...I'm extremely shy and paranoid. I've written 5 full scripts at 120-125pgs each and countless short stories and plot ideas. I'm better at writing action, titles, characters then I am at writing dialog or endings. It drives me crazy but all I can do is get better.

For fun, I still read other scripts to movies I know and I try to learn what I can and watch all interviews, commentaries and behind the scenes stuff I can, not just for my writing but because it really is interesting to me.

I've done a few "extras" parts, aka "Shemps"
when I lived in Las Vegas, NV. My first Shemping experience came from Oceans 11.

In the final cut I have two scenes and no speaking parts, but I was actually in about 5 and doing "background" noise or asking people what they wanted to drink as a waitress.

I learned a lot from being behind the scenes. Movie stars aren't all nice and sweet people.
Chaos reigns supreme and its messy.
Extras are mostly just cattle that you can't trust.
Makeup artists don't like pale skin.
Directors don't want to put the girl with the flaming red hair anywhere near Julia Roberts.
But over all it was a really rewarding experience, everyone complained when the A\C went out, there was no water bottles at times and extras even got in fights with each other. I'd do it all again in a heart beat.
I went on to do several more extra roles until I moved away. I always liked the idea of acting but I'm actually too shy to perform so I tend to stick to writing and maybe one day directing.

I used to work at CH.13, ABC as an editor and even that experience gave me a better perspective on how movies are pieced together. Both linear and non-linear. I love editing and I find it to be peaceful, unlike some other editors that don't find it to have enough creative freedom. At least not in the news, but who can blame them, right?

My Video Game Collection

I've played PC games since 1996, which makes me feel old. Some of my favorites, besides CS:S, Half Life, Doom ect are:

I'm usually a sniper, I love finding a good place to perch. I'm also an excellent pilot and driver. In BF2 my favorite thing was to fly black hawks low enough to run people over or make them drive off the road and crash.

In L4d and L4d2, I enjoy co-op and vs. My favorite gun is the magnum and fav. special infected: boomer.

I have so many horror classics, though I never did beat "D", the disc was corrupted.

Phantasmagoria was a great source of creative energy, I truly love that house and I'd live in it, monster in the basement and all.

Shivers had GREAT music and really gave me chills sometimes.

Beast Within was fun because I still know enough German to figure out the puzzles.

Evidence is impossible to beat. Go ahead prove me wrong, I friggin' DARE you.

Jericho is beautiful and gory, a perfect mix of gruesome and absolute stunning and creative scenery, though its game play is short and Delgato will make you wish you could kill him or...yourself, over all its truly worth playing, if just for the details alone.

In Tomb of the Pharaoh, Malcom McDowell plays your pseudo bad guy, hes awesome though. The game gets tricky when you have to remember how to navigate through the mines, its no "left left right"

Tim FRIGGIN' Curry stars as Dr. Frankenstien, hes the very reason to even try this game. Its relaxing, simple and has pretty good graphics, for its day.

And as for Rise of the Triad, well, all I have to say is God Bat + Jumpy Pad = FUN! "FFoooorrreeeeeee----shhhhink"

Then there's games I suck at, I mean I'm truly terrible and the world should be glad I'm not a doctor. I'm positive I didn't miss a calling when I play these Wii games. I love them, don't get me wrong but it takes me 10-11 attempts to beat each "mission" and its not just the delay on the remote but its me being lazy and trying to just put antibiotics on everything then a band-aid.

*My* movie memories

First off, I decided to make this list because I know that other fans of movies have interesting picks for what scares them or what bothers them...or even what they consider to be romantic ect.

C.H.U.D 1, I'm still afraid of potholes. Seriously.

Stir Of Echoes, I had never fainted in my life till one day I was watching this, long after it hit dvd, I was mixing cake batter, watching from the kitchen. When the young girls nails bent backwards and broke, I fainted. No joke. I still have a problem with nails breaking.

The blob has always made me paranoid of zipping my hoodie all the way up and strangely, jam.
Wolf Creek freaked me out because its based off a true story, though I'm not sure how many details of the film translated from truth, the head on a stick theory is extremely scary to me.

The other movies make me cry, no matter how many times i've seen them, it still upsets me. I fight it, but you can only pretend somethings in your eye for so long.

Here we have what I consider to be chick flicks, that is to say, movies I'd watch when gal pals are around, not all my female friends enjoy the carnage that I do, so these are the usual picks.
It angers me how many of my friends don't see how Dark City is
a clever romance movie and truly awesome.

And Earth Girls are easy is there simply cause of the 80s montages and endless silliness of humoring aliens that turn out to be "attractive" males.

Here we have a small list of movies that always makes me laugh, great to watch after a rough day.
I don't care how many people didn't like Hitchhikers Guide, it is funny!

A few more classics I always seem to have in my regular DVD rotation after a long day.
and of course some films that I remember watching and thinking "oh man I wish I was an actor, that set must of been so exciting"

Art, the crime scene.

I call my art desk a crime scene because of the mats and reddish brown paint that seems to stick out more then the purple or greens. These tiny little bottles are endless amounts of fun and I'm seriously considering doing some youtube tutorials for any would-be artists that need to just relax.

The amazing thing about these inks is its very hard to screw up, even if you match colors you're not happy with, it can be fixed, layered, covered and even bleached with plain old witch hazel.

You can let them bleed, use dry brushes, meld with your fingertips and even use feathers for added textures.

Here I have two high gloss papers that were stamped together for a moment and then pulled a part to bleed. This effect is similar on each page but just enough to make each piece unique. Perfect for decorating any office folders or catching excess ink.

These are my favorites, used with regular stamps and tiny card stock paper.

If you ever feel like you want to paint but are afraid of making a fool of yourself, give alcohol inks a try.
They usually come in packs of 3 for about $10, the bottles are tiny so I suggest either getting doubles or starting on small pieces of paper.

You can also use water to help bleed and fade the ink if you want the effect. Just keep in mind, the black ink tends to eat all the colors around it, like a black hole. So use it carefully or if you want, you can try to wipe it off with a dry rag, but these inks also dry really quickly.

Gloves are important because the inks have a tendency to stain finger nails and skin.

Don't feel too bad if your gloves break or get what I call "slits" from paper cuts and dye your skin, it will come out with a little ajax and a scrubbie....eventually:)

Oh and stay away from gloves with talc in them because one way or another you'll forget about it later, itch your eye and regret it. It's kind of like what I imagine having a bee sting your eyeball would be like...

And as usual, always paint near an open window or a fan for ventilation, this stuff can cause wicked headaches.
